Tell us something about yourself. Why did you open a you tube channel on Street food of Pakistan?
Well, my name is Zia Tabarak. I am a motion graphics designer by profession and working as Senior Manager Creative in Dawn News TV of Pakistan.
I am a rough and tough type of guy who loves to travel and eat outside, exploring new things, old areas, food, cultures, history and traditions is my passion. I am doing photography and videography as a hobby. I do not have a very fancy camera and mostly i take photos and videos from my mobile phone (Samsung S6).
Thanks to Instagram, You tube and other internet platforms which gave us the opportunity to try out new things and showcase what we love to do.
Out of my deep love for travel and food i started watching vlogs of other youtubers. I would like to specially mention the name of Mark Weins who has over 1 million you tube subscribers. I am a huge fan of him and after watching his videos for almost 2 years, i recently started my You tube channel Street Food Pk.

I realized that Pakistan has a very rich food culture which needs to be highlighted just like other countries. I understand that my videos are not very well shot in terms of quality because currently i am doing all this just with my mobile phone but this is the beauty of You tube that if your content is good people immediately starts giving you response and that gives you fuel to do even more and that’s what’s happening to me…I started this channel as a hobby but the response is so overwhelming that now i am planning to do it professionally too.
In your street food videos, which part of Pakistan do you generally focus?
Karachi is my main focus since i live in Karachi, but soon i will visit Lahore and Peshawar too to showcase street foods of these two cities.
Karachi is like mini-Pakistan. People from all around the country live here, so you can find all the tastes of Pakistan in Karach – from Peshwari chapli kebabs to Lahori charga, from Shanwari Namkeen Boti to Mazedaar Haleem...You name it…Karachi has it.

Second spot in the top street food of Pakistan would be Doodh Patti Chai and Paratha. The common place for everyone to meet up and chit chat are these Pathan Chai Hotels. Just take a cup of tea for only $0.3 (Rs 30) and you can sit there for as much as you want…
The third top street food of Pakistan would be BBQ Paratha roll. The best and affordable snack start usually in the evening till late night.
The fourth best street food of Pakistan would be Papri Chat and Gol Gappay (Pani puri). Only few places have the best of it. Bahadurabad’s Papri chat and Liaquatabad’s Gol Gappay are a must to try if you are in Karachi.
The fifth top Pakistani street food would be Koyla Karahi. Another trending dish these days is Koyla Karahi. In fact, this is dish is cooked on charcoal which gives it a unique taste – you can have it in either mutton or chicken.
